Process customer transactions with a professional split-screen POS interface. The left panel provides product search by name, SKU, or barcode, category filter tabs, and a clickable product grid. The right panel displays the cart with quantity controls, discount input (percentage or fixed), customer selector, payment method choice (Cash, Card, Bank Transfer, Credit), paid amount entry with automatic change calculation. Each sale auto-generates an invoice number, decrements stock, creates stock movement records, posts double-entry journal entries (debit Cash, credit Sales Revenue, debit COGS, credit Inventory), and triggers notifications for large sales or low stock. How does the POS terminal work?

The POS has a session-based workflow. Open a session with an opening cash balance, then search/scan products, add to cart, select a customer (optional), choose a payment method (Cash, Card, Bank Transfer, or Credit), enter the paid amount, and complete the sale. The system auto-generates an invoice, decrements stock, creates stock movement records, posts double-entry journal entries, and sends notifications for large sales or low stock. Close the session with a closing balance for cash reconciliation.

How does inventory tracking work?

Every stock change is tracked with a movement record showing type (In/Out/Adjustment), quantity, before/after stock levels, reference, reason, and user. Stock is automatically updated when sales are processed (Out) or purchases are received (In). You can also make manual adjustments for breakage, theft, or corrections. Physical stock takes let you count inventory and the system reconciles discrepancies automatically.

What accounting features are included?

The system includes a full double-entry accounting module with a hierarchical chart of accounts (20+ pre-configured accounts across Asset, Liability, Equity, Revenue, and Expense types). Journal entries are auto-created for every POS sale (Cash/Revenue/COGS/Inventory/Tax), purchase receipt (Inventory/Cash), and expense (Expense/Cash). You can also create manual journal entries with debit/credit validation. The Profit & Loss report shows revenue, COGS, gross profit, expenses by category, and net income.

How does the employee commission system work?

Each employee record includes a commission rate (percentage) and a monthly sales target. The system tracks all sales processed by each employee's linked user account. The performance dashboard shows monthly sales total, transaction count, commission earned (sales ร— rate), and target progress (sales รท target ร— 100%). The Employee Performance Report provides a date-range comparison across all staff, sorted by sales.

What user roles and permissions are available?

The system includes 46 granular permissions organized into 15 modules (Dashboard, POS, Sales, Products, Categories, Inventory, Purchases, Suppliers, Customers, Employees, Expenses, Accounting, Reports, Settings, Users). Four default roles: Admin (full access, bypasses all checks), Manager (all except user deletion and settings editing), Cashier (POS, view sales/products, view/create customers), Employee (view products, inventory, customers). Permissions are fully customizable per role via the Role Permissions page.

Can I print barcode labels?

Yes! You can print barcodes for individual products by clicking the barcode icon on the Products page. For bulk printing, select multiple products using checkboxes and click "Print Labels" to generate a print-optimized label grid (3 columns) with product name, visual barcode (generated by JsBarcode), and selling price. Barcodes are auto-generated if not provided (prefix + 9 random digits).

How do customer statements work?

Navigate to a customer's profile and click "View Statement". The statement shows company details, customer information, summary cards (Total Sales, Total Paid, Balance Due), and a transaction table with date, invoice number, status, amount, paid, and due columns. Filter by date range. Click "Print Statement" for a print-optimized layout. Credit sales show the due amount in red.

What technology stack is used?

Backend: Laravel (PHP 8.2+), Database: MySQL/MariaDB, Frontend: Blade templates with Tailwind CSS and Alpine.js, Charts: Chart.js, Barcodes: JsBarcode, Authentication: Laravel Auth with RBAC. The system requires no build step โ€” all frontend assets are loaded via CDN. Fully compatible with XAMPP, WAMP, or any PHP hosting environment.
